I am using Reg Organizer to clean up my computer, but when it gets to "Windows Updates Unused Files" it remainshat for over 1/2 an hour and never finishes.
Suggestion? All else is fine.
Thanks so much,
Leslie

Re: Windows Update Files
Hello,
Windows Updates Unused is a rather specific cleanup location that sometimes behaves unpredictably. The cleaning of old update files is carried out by calling a ready-made function of the operating system, over which Reg Organizer has only minimal control. The system itself calculates the volume of data to be cleaned, and it cannot be rechecked from an external program such as Reg Organizer; it only initiates it. Therefore, if there are any problems with cleaning the Windows Updates Unused cleanup location, we recommend excluding it from cleaning in Reg Organizer, which is done by default.

Re: Windows Update Files
Thank you. I did what you suggested, and Reg Organizer cleaned everything else.
Shall I leave the Windows Updates unchecked every time I run the program from now on?

Re: Windows Update Files
Yes, it is recommended to disable the cleaning of this location. You can try enabling its cleaning again after some time. Some users have reported that they managed to clean this location with the internet access turned off. You can try this option as well. However, the recommended action is to temporarily disable the cleaning of this location.

Re: Windows Update Files
Good morning,
I have been experiencing the same problem for some time now.
Could you be more specific about what windows functions are involved / called by this procedure to understand what may be the problem with my system ? what directories does it try to clean ?
Thanks

Re: Windows Update Files
Hi,
This cleanup can be initiated directly from the system. Open This PC, go to the properties of the C drive, and then proceed to the cleanup as shown in the screenshot. Find the Windows Update Cleanup option. Try to clean up this section through the system. Will the same problem occur?
